Philips BDP3000 £97 in-store, £100 delivered

Asda and Argos have reduced this Philips box to £97 from £160 in stores nationwide. If neither shop's nearby, you can also get it from Amazon for £99.99 delivered (reduced from £152.18).

It'll play full-HD discs at 24 frames per second, and also does a great job upscaling DVDs. Sound-wise it'll decode Dolby's TrueHD 7.1 surround sound, though you'll need a home cinema amp (and a big pile of speakers) to take advantage of this.

This is the cheapest mainstream deal for a branded high def player out there.
